The Rainbow Riders Program is design for people who want to follow a step by step curriculum, while maintaining the flexibility of working towards individual goals. It covers everything from the basic understanding of body language and care of horses, to riding and training. In this program students work through progress checklists at their own pace, achieving certificates with the completion of each level, while doing fun activities both during lessons and at home.
Our lesson plans for each horsemanship student looks different, and with the Rainbow Riders Program, that doesn't change. Because we're all unique and our bodies, goals, and learning styles vary so much, it's impossible to have a one size fits all program. That being said, there are certain skills that allow us to become proficient with our horsemanship, and teach us to adapt and grow within our individual visions of what we want our experiences with horses to look like.
The purpose with all of our horsemanship lessons is to give students the knowledge, opportunity, and skill to go whichever way they want within the world of horses. The options within the various disciplines are vast, and having a solid foundation allows horse people to experiment and discover what they love to do with confidence, safety and awareness. Whether participants choose to do horsemanship through the Rainbow Riders Program or not, that purpose remains the same. So while curriculum based learning isn't for everyone, some of us definitely thrive when working through processes in this way, and really enjoy the extra activities and structure.
This program can be utilized by any of our new or returning students, it's never to late to start!
